As a PHP/MySQL and Web developer, you will design and build using XHTML/CSS/JavaScript, develop using PHP and MySQL, and maintain websites and applications.

Interactive Developers are responsible for the back end development and working with open-source and proprietary content management systems. Quality and innovative thinking are critical aspects of this role. You must have a can-do attitude and ready to embrace challenges.

This is a fast-paced environment and we are seeking a hands-on developer who is eager to jump in, think big, and help bring ideas to life.

Required Skills

  • Excellent skill with PHP as an object-oriented language
  • Experience with relational database design and development
  • Ability to write functions, triggers and queries to MySQL
  • Work with internal teams to develop front-end XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ability to start with a Photoshop design, and then develop and QA valid standard XHTML and CSS on strict deadlines
  • Ability to aid in architecture and creation of frontend applications starting with technical and product requirement documents
  • Understanding of browser specific compatibility issues
  • Provide front-end troubleshooting support and reporting
  • Assist in managing versioning of web assets like graphics, HTML templates, JavaScript, and style sheets in a repository.
  • Knowledge of applications used in web development: authoring tools (Dreamweaver) and graphics tools (Photoshop)
  • Real-world experience with content management systems (WordPress) and source control (Subversion)

Desired Skills

  • Knowledgeable about ActionScript 3 and Flash
  • Experience with jQuery JavaScript library
  • Ability to interface with existing APIs (i.e. Google Maps, Twitter API, ContantContact API
  • Understanding of Linux/Apache server setup

Experience + Education

  • 1-3 years of experience with PHP and MySQL
  • 1-3 years of experience with XHTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • 1-3 years of experience with Flash and ActionScript 3
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.

Location

Charlotte, NC – We are located at the North Carolina Music Factory near uptown Charlotte. Our office sits back-stage to the Road Runner Mobile amphitheater and is directly in the middle of all the NC Music Factory nightlife. Not that it is an incentive, but our space comes fully loaded with Wii Tennis, Rock Band and Xbox Kinect.
